# Drones | Big Mech Energy Idle Wiki

Salvaged off the **Synth CEO Exo-Frame** when it falls: a **Salvage Drone Bay**. Launch **strike sorties**: timed runs into the ruins that bring back **Components** and occasional **Caches** (guaranteed parts, sometimes rarer than waves drop).

- **Idle by default:** sorties run while you're away, even offline, and you collect on return.
- **Field bonus:** drones NOT out on a sortie hover over the battlefield and auto-loot, adding 8 percent Scrap each. Sending them away trades that bonus for the sortie haul.
- **Escalation Tier:** longer sorties pay more total (and more conveniently) but risk a drone breaking. Repair broken drones with Scrap.
- **Clearance Level:** level the bay (with Scrap) to raise yields and unlock higher Escalation Tiers.
