Pets

Unlocked by scrapping DJ Leggs. Normal wave machines very rarely drop a pocket-sized copy of themselves: a pet. It is the same machine, shrunk, in your colors, and it likes you now.

Drop odds. A pet's first copy drops at 1 in 1,000 per kill of that machine, and the odds halve for every copy you already own: 1 in 2,000 for the second, 1 in 4,000 for the third, and so on up the line. Meeting a new pet is common enough; maxing one from drops alone is not, by design. Only normal mobs drop pets (bosses never do), the Arcade district nudges the rate up, and drops only teach to level 10. The Training Yard handles every level past that.

  • Levels: repeat finds level a pet, +1 percent to its bonus per level. Drops teach up to level 10; the Training Yard takes any pet to level 25.
  • Deploy up to three. Deployed pets trot beside your Mech in battle and feed their bonuses into the run.
  • Bonus types: Damage, Scrap, Components, part drop rate, repair rate. Same-type pets stack additively with each other; the total is a multiplier on the run.
  • The Bonuses drawer under the battle HP bar tracks live drone and pet buffs.
  • Overlord minis: defeat any overlord five times (re-fights count; that is what they are for) and a gold trophy copy joins the bench with its own themed bonus. Every five further defeats add a level up to 10; past that, minis train in the Yard like any other pet. Eleven to collect, one per overlord.
